A community rooted in apostolic faith, gathered together in Christ
St Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church has served the Malayali Jacobite Syrian Orthodox community of Sydney since 2006 — carrying forward nearly two thousand years of Antiochian and Malankara tradition in worship, fellowship and service. It holds the distinction of being the first Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church established in Australia.

Nearly two thousand years of unbroken tradition, twenty years in Sydney
The Christian community we belong to traces its origin to the arrival of St Thomas the Apostle in India in AD 52, and to the Syrian settlers who joined the Malankara Church in AD 345 under the rites and liturgies of the Church of Antioch. St Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was established in Sydney in February 2006 by believers who had migrated from Kerala, under the guidance of H. G. Kuriakose Mor Theophilose and H. E. Mor Malatius Malki Malki.
From an initial gathering of eighteen members at a Uniting church in South Strathfield, the church has grown into a devoted congregation with active spiritual organisations for every generation.
